Who ARE the /HAS-BEENS/

'A team is not a group of people who work together. A team is a group of people who trust each other.'

- Simon Sinek

Carlos Ortega

He/his/him

After 13 years of working his ass off at the Museum of Latin American Art, Carlos has been a misfit and outcast in the museum and entertainment field. He made his first million at the early age of never. But he did win the prestigious Thea Award in 2017. Even though life tried to kill him twice with a stroke and Covid-19, he continued his commitment to creating projects with an emphasis on equity and inclusion. He is part of CurCom at AAM, and the WMA Board. We want you to hire him. We need the money.

Cat Casares Marino

She/her/hers

Catherine is the co-founder of The Has-been Company, and the only individual in the team with common sense. Her experience includes working for The Getty Leadership Institute and CalArts. Catherine is a animal activist, photographer, and member of Girls Who Can't Surf Good, a surf group seeking to empower women who don't surf good. Cat has a Masters degree in bla, bla, bla and is devoted to equitable causes.

EDWARD ESCARSEGA

He/his/him

Edward is the third key individual in The Has-been founder's ménage-a-trois. Mr. Escarsega is our Marketing Guru. His career highlights include leading the membership department at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, where he developed collaborative community events that brought new levels of inclusion to the institution. Edward is allergic to bull shit, which is why he is a great person to have on your team. If you ask him nicely, he might delight you with his grill master skills.

Guillermo Matia

He/his/him

Guillermo is Managing Director of The Has-been Company's European branch. Founder of Delegate-Solutions in Spain, this gentleman has been training leaders and strengthening Fortune 500 teams for much longer than his baby face might have you believe. Author of the highly unsuccessful book titled Humanizing Companies in the 21st Century, Guillermo is an expert in training companies to invest in people. Guillermo enriches the company with his electric guitar solos and paella making skills.
